Stable cottage adjoins Streethead farm, a working dairy, beef and sheep farm. This charming olde worlde cottage was once the farm's stable for the work horses, with the hay loft for fodder up above. The cottage is historically grade (2) listed and retains many original features. Prices range from £235-£325 per week. This price is fully inclusive of fuel ,bedding and towels. There are no hidden extras. Click on the photos, to get a larger view. The Property Lounge - The spacious lounge is upstairs to take advantage of the views, which are different from each window. To the North you look out over open farmland to the Scottish Border hills (only 22 miles away). To the South you look out of our unusual round windows overlooking our large colourful garden, orchard with ornamental waterfowl pondsd towards the Ullswater Hills (approx 15 miles away). Mavellous sunsets can be viewed over the Calbeck fells (in the Lake District National Park) only 8 miles away from Blencartha in the distance from the west facing windows. The lounge also has exposed sandstone walls, a cosy woodburning stove, tv with video, books and games. Bedroooms - There are two bedrooms both on the ground floor one has a romantic four poster bed, the other has two twin beds. Both bedrooms have above the bed walls lights. We only used non feather bedding. Bathroom - Again this is on the ground floor with electric shower in its own cubicle, sink, bath and toilet. Kitchen - Also on the ground floor, fully equipped with oven, hob, (both electric) fridge, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, small deep freeze, microwave, kettle and toaster. Garden and grounds The cottage shares a large colourful garden with the farmhouse, alothough you have your own patio with picnic table, garden furniture is also provided. A feature of the grounds are lrage ponds filled with rare and endangered species of waterfowl, black swans, mandarin ducks, to name a few, there is also an aviary with various breeds of small birds.
